Dr. Swarup Bhunia, Director of the Warren B. Nelms Institute for the Connected World, has been named a University of Florida Research Foundation (UFRF) Professor of 2024. This year, UFRF awarded the distinction to 34 faculty members who have a distinguished current record of research and a strong research agenda.
Dr. Bhunia is the Semmoto Endowed Professor and Director of the Warren B. Nelms Institute for the Connected World. He has recently been elevated to IEEE Fellow (2024) and received Invention of the Year at the University of Florida (2022). His research primarily lies in IoT and smart and connected systems, focusing on hardware and systems security, food and medicine safety, adaptive and energy-efficient computing, and wearable and implantable systems.
