Two Warren B. Nelms Institute faculty members have received 2023 International Educator of the Year Awards, presented by The University of Florida International Center. The International Educator of the Year Awards honor the outstanding contributions of faculty and staff to the internationalization of the University of Florida and the impact of those contributions on students, international partners, and university stakeholders. Each year, one senior faculty, one junior faculty, and one staff member are presented with the award.
Dr. Pavlo “Pasha” Antonenko, Professor of Educational Technology in the School of Teaching and Learning, received the award in the senior faculty category. Dr. Gloria Jung A. Kim, Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering Education, received the award in the junior faculty category.
Dr. Antonenko’s research focuses on developing, implementing, and studying technologies for scaffolding learning. Dr. Kim’s research centers around the convergence in engineering education, global engineering education, and social issues in STEM research and teaching.
