Dr. Ivan Ruchkin will be joining the University of Florida as an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) in Fall 2022. Dr. Ruchkin will also join the Warren B. Nelms Institute for the Connected World. He received his PhD in Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2019.
Dr. Ruchkin’s research develops integrated high-assurance methods for modeling, analyzing, and monitoring modern cyber-physical systems. His contributions were recognized with multiple Best Paper awards, a Gold Medal in the ACM Student Research Competition, and the Frank Anger Memorial Award for crossover of ideas between software engineering and embedded systems. His research interests also extend to safe and trustworthy autonomy, cyber-physical systems, guarantees for learning components, and formal methods.
