Dr. Patanjali SLPSK is a postdoctoral research scholar that joined the Warren B. Nelms Institute for the Connected World in late 2019, under the mentorship of Dr. Swarup Bhunia. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras where he was advised by Dr. Kamakoti. He earned his Master’s degree in IIT Madras after completing his undergraduate education at Pondicherry Engineering College, Puducherry, India. His Doctoral thesis focused on incorporating energy efficiency and security constraints in digital design flows. Additionally, he also worked on research problems that dealt with security issues at the architecture, network level with his collaborators at IIT Madras. Their work on security issues in Netflix movies was featured in Wired. Patanjali has also worked with his colleagues on micro-architectural security with their work titled Gandalf, winning the best prize in the Embedded Security Challenge conducted as a part of Cyber Security Awareness Week at IIT Kanpur.

As a part of his postdoctoral research, Dr. Patanjali SLPSK is focused on applying the solutions developed in his PhD thesis onto IoT and AI systems, where security and energy efficiency play a major role. He is currently working on building autonomous solutions for handling emergency situations and remote assistance. He is also developing prototypes for continuous healthcare monitoring, and mentoring three PhD students affiliated with Nelms Institute.

His research works have been accepted in venues like ICCAD, DSN, DATE, Embedded Systems Letters, and Computer Architecture Letters. Patanjali has also served as a Program Committee member for ICCAD 2020 and as a reviewer for prestigious journals like JETC, IEEE IoTJ, and HASS.

Apart from his research, his hobbies include reading books, painting, and photography.
