PhD student Rohan Reddy Kalavakonda is the recipient of the 2025 Attributes of a Gator Engineer award. The award is considered the greatest distinction of any student award given by the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. The Gator Engineering Attribute Awards honor six undergraduate and six Ph.D. students who strongly model one of the six Gator Engineering Attributes: creativity, leadership, integrity, professional excellence, service to the global community, and community and inclusion.
Rohan received the award for the attribute of creativity. He is currently pursuing his PhD degree in the ECE department at the University of Florida under the guidance of Dr. Swarup Bhunia. Rohan’s research utilizes a hands-on approach with cross-disciplinary collaborations that connect electronic system design with fields such as Education, Orthopedics, Entomology, and Agriculture. Rohan’s passion lies in translating complex technologies into accessible real-world applications, focusing on solutions that create meaningful impact.
