Sudipta Paria Receives ECE Graduate Student Research Excellence Award

Sudipta Paria is the recipient of the  2025 ECE Graduate Student Research Excellence award. The award is given yearly to an ECE graduate student who has excelled in their research during the academic year. The award recognizes students’ dedication, enthusiasm, and promise as an graduate researcher in the ECE department. Students are nominated by their faculty advisor. Sudipta is currently pursuing his PhD degree in the ECE department at the University of Florida under the guidance of Dr. Swarup Bhunia.

Sudipta is primarily working in the field of Hardware Security and Trust, including Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Tools development for SoC Security and verification leveraging LLMs, detection of Hardware Trojans, etc. He is currently involved with multiple funded research projects.

He has authored twelve impactful publications, has one granted patent and two already filed, led his team to 1st place in Hack@DAC 2024 and 3rd place in Hack@DAC 2023, and won 1st prize in the Logic Locking competition and 2nd prize in the AI Hardware Challenge at the CSAW Cybersecurity Conference in Nov 2023. As a mentor, Sudipta has guided three undergraduate and six graduate students on research projects and helped them foster their academic and professional growth.
